David Bailey was one of the most iconic fashion photographers of the 1960's. He is best known for using his techniques of stark backgrounds and close cropping. His fresh and in a way, profane approach to fashion photography is what makes him one of the most famous photographers of the 1960s. The majority of his photos are of young models, usually women. His use of strongly contrasted backgrounds and close cropping were the two primary techniques formed in making decisions for this project. Bailey’s photos are also known for being highly graphic and minimalist; usually having one model with an empty background, the facial expression of the model being the main target.
