The U.S. epidemic is continuing. Drug overdose deaths have nearly tripled since 2002. Over 50% of these deaths involved an opioid. Epidemiologists have agreed that the increased overdose rates are due to the increased use of opioids such as heroin. The National Institute on Drug Abuse has collected data from 2002 about the increased amount of deaths for a variety of different drugs. The following components covey the information given from NIH using vivid graphics in print and motion in order to create more awareness to younger audiences.
